Our Policies

This page outlines our key policies so you always know what to expect. You’ll find details on our Arrival Window Policy, Cancellation Policy, Weather Guidelines, and Holiday & Peak Travel Policies. These keep our scheduling predictable, our team safe, and your pets well cared for year-round.

Arrival Window Policy

Walks Wiggles and Wags operates on a 2-hour arrival window for all scheduled visits. This window allows us to plan routes safely and reliably, especially during weather changes, traffic delays, multi-pet homes, and high-volume days. Below are our arrival guidelines:

1. Your visit will happen within the 2-hour window, not at an exact time.

2. We may arrive earlier or later in the window depending on the day.

3. We will contact you if we are running beyond the 2-hour window.

4. If your pet needs a very specific timing (e.g., medication), tell us in advance.

5. Mid-day (11–3) is the busiest part of our day.

6. If you’re home during the visit, please keep pets accessible.

7. Last-minute timing requests can’t always be guaranteed.

Weather & Safety Conditions Policy

Walks Wiggles and Wags continues services in most weather conditions. We adjust visits only when safety becomes a concern for pets or walkers. Our goal is to keep everyone safe without disrupting your routine.

Extreme Heat

When temperatures or humidity reach dangerous levels, we may:
• Shorten outdoor time
• Walk in shaded or grassy areas
• Replace most of the visit with indoor play, enrichment, and cooling breaks
• Avoid pavement when temperatures can burn paws

We always complete the full visit time, even if part of it is indoors. We utilize a safety chart, courtesy of PetPlan Pet Insurance, to help determine the appropriate duration and safety of walks based on weather conditions (see below).*

Extreme Cold

When temperatures drop to unsafe levels, we may:
• Shorten outdoor time
• Use booties or sweaters if provided
• Focus on indoor play and mental stimulation
• Avoid icy or untreated walkways

Full visit time is still honored.

Heavy Rain, Thunderstorms & Unsafe Conditions

We walk during normal rain. We do not walk during:
• Lightning
• Thunderstorms
• High winds
• Tornado watches/warnings

In these conditions, we switch to indoor activity and bathroom breaks until it’s safe. If access to the home is unsafe (flooding, icy steps, etc.), we will notify you immediately.

Snow & Ice

School closures do not determine our operations. We continue services unless roads or walkways become unsafe for travel. We may:
• Delay or adjust visit times
• Shorten outdoor time
• Modify the route or switch walkers
• Cancel only when driving or home access is unsafe

Clients are responsible for clearing walkways, steps, and driveways so we can access the home safely.

If We Cancel

If weather forces us to cancel, client will not be charged and notified right away.

If Clients Cancel During Safe Conditions

Regular cancellation policies apply (see above).
