Dog Walker/Pet Sitter Position
We’re always looking for great dog walkers and pet sitters to join our team.
We’re currently hiring for our Morristown and Bernardsville team.
Applicants must live within 5-10 miles of these towns.
WHY YOU’LL LOVE THIS JOB:
1. IT’S REWARDING WORK
You enjoy building meaningful connections with pets and their owners while making a positive impact in your community.
2. YOU HAVE FLEXIBLE HOURS
This is the perfect position for those seeking daytime work with flexible weekday availability and want supplemental income (avg. $500 - $1,000 per month based on hours worked).
3. YOU ENJOY BEING PHYSICALLY ACTIVE
You enjoy spending time outdoors, staying physically active, and walking anywhere from 1 to 5 miles a day while caring for adorable pets.
4. YOU ENJOY ALL SIZES, BREEDS, AND TEMPERAMENTS
We work with many types of dog sizes and breeds, from Miniature Pinchers to Great Danes and Cane Corsos (and everything in between).
5. NO TWO DAYS ARE THE SAME
If you like variety, this is for you! Every day brings new routes, different pets, and plenty of opportunities for fun and adventure.
6. WE OFFER COMPETITIVE PAY AND BENEFITS
Competitive pay, workers’ compensation, mileage reimbursement, paid time off, paid training, employee discount, and coverage under our business insurance.
WHY YOU MAY NOT LOVE THIS JOB:
1. THERE IS NO SET SCHEDULE
Your schedule will vary from week-to-week, there are no guaranteed hours, and clients may cancel or request changes on short notice.
2. YOU DON’T ENJOY WORKING OUTDOORS
New Jersey weather can be unpredictable and you’ll be working outdoors in all types of weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow).
3. YOU’RE NOT COMFORTABLE WORKING INDEPENDENTLY
This position requires a high level of responsibility and independence. You’ll need to be confident in making decisions on the go and following specific instructions.
4. YOU PREFER A MORE LOW-ENERGY & RELAXED PACE
Dog walking is physically active and fast-paced, involving multiple visits, varied schedules, and handling dogs of all energy levels. Those who prefer a slower, more low-energy work environment may find it challenging.
5. YOU’LL INTERACT WITH ALL PET PERSONALITIES
Not every dog is easy! Some may pull hard on the leash, bark excessively, or be shy and require extra patience.
6. YOU’LL NEED TO USE YOUR OWN CAR AND PHONE
You’ll need to have reliable transportation and insurance at all times and use your own vehicle to travel between dog walking and pet sitting visits. You’ll also need a modern smartphone to use during walks.
If the above resonates with you and can see yourself thriving in this role, we’d love for you to take the next step and apply below.
